“Low beam headlights do not work. High beam works as well as daytime running lights. The dealer said the lcm module needs to be replaced but did not have one in stock and will call me when it comes in. My concern is this problem has been going on since at least the year 2000. Now I have a 100 deductible service warranty on this 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis so it will not be a great expense for me as it would be for others. This issue should have been resolved by now. My guess here is ford is using overstocked earlier year model parts in the new models being built. …”

“Odometer fades out most of the time...sometimes it will brighten up so you can see it..but soon fades out again..ford wants $600 to fix it...2008 is the only year that fits and there are 4 different ones that fit..can't find a used one”

“2008 Mercury Grand Marquis ls had an electrical outage. The consumer stated the trunk lid would not open using the remote control or by pushing the button. All of the lights went out on the instrument panel and the headlights went out as well.”

NHTSA complaint #10247069, filed 2008-10, 6,992 miles

“The contact owns a 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds at night, the headlights intermittently failed to operate without warning. The contact also stated that the instrument panel went blank while experiencing the failure. The contact stated that the headlights resumed normal operation a few minutes after failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to a local dealer to have the vehicle inspected. The vehicle was not repaired. …”

NHTSA complaint #11403459, filed 2021-03, 72,000 miles

“The digital speedometer and fuel readings keep flashing on and off sometimes staying off for short periods of time while engine is running. Is this something under warranty.”
