“The problem is with the gas pedal, its hard to press/accelerate and sometimes when I press/accelerate from a stop and at speeds of 30 MPH, it gets stuck and I have to put it in neutral. Very dangerous situation.”
NHTSA complaint #10475934, filed 2012-09, 58,000 miles“The gas pedal stuck while driving, the car would only idle and not move. The car was in traffic and almost hit by another vehicle. On a prior date the gas pedal stuck and would not move, car just idled in a parking lot for about five minutes. This wasn't first time it stuck, but prior times it always released right away.”
NHTSA complaint #10683358, filed 2015-02, 141,000 miles“Gas mileage has suddenly and markedly plummeted on highway driving. Air filter replaced - no change. There has been no change in driving patterns. It has gone from around 20 hwy to around 10 hwy out of the blue - no engine/tranny/brakes issues or anything like that. Not a clue.”
NHTSA complaint #10372511, filed 2010-12, 50,000 miles“Driving the car in cold weather the throttle would stick for the first couple of miles until the car was warmed up. This is a 4cyl.auto trans./ same type of vehicle as ford escape.”
NHTSA complaint #10466917, filed 2012-07, 55,000 miles“While stopped, the accelerator pedal sticks in the up position, and requires excessive force to move the vehicle. This sometimes results in excessive acceleration when the pedal becomes unstuck.”
