“The vehicle's transmission failed. The consumer attempted to enter the drivers side door when the vehicle started to move forward dragging the consumer 50 feet coming to a stop as it hit the curb. The consumer suffered numerous injuries. The vehicle shift lever was still in park.”
NHTSA complaint #10101150, filed 2004-11“Transmission malfunction, vehicle hard to shift. The vehicle was in park when the consumer was exiting the vehicle. The vehicle began to roll forward suddenly knocking the consumer to the ground. The consumer was holding onto the inside door handle and was dragged on his stomach about 50 feet. The consumer dislocated his shoulder and separated muscle and tendon as well as nerves from the rotator cuff. The dragging also inflicted numerous cut on the consumers stomach and legs.”
