“At approximately 34000 miles left front brake cylinder leaked, and caused sever damage to the braking system in my car. This was covered by the dealer, and they replaced all of the brake shoes, replaced the hydraulicsto the front brakes, turned the rotors etc. Now, 20000 miles later, the same type of leak is occuring again. Why the same type of failure? I can understand that the brake shoes need replacement periodically, and that the system needs to be serviced, but to have the complete hydraulic system fail (again) seven months after a full replacement?”

“I own a 2001 Mercury Sable. At approximately 70,000 the driver's seat belt began to retract sporadically. At about 75,000 miles the seatbelt no longer retracted at all. The seatbelt still locks when pressure is put on it, but I am concerned about its safety.”

NHTSA complaint #10185111, filed 2007-03

“I'd like to report that the temperature control unit for my 2001 Mercury Sable is not functioning properly. In addition to the A/C not functioning in warm weather, the moisture is not removed from the windshield in cooler weather, causing a safety hazard from the windshield fogging. The tempature control unit only blows very hot air, no matter which tempature is selected. The vehicle has been in for repair four times; the last time was on 10/14/02, but no work was performed becuase the TSB has not been issued. …”
