NHTSA complaint #10464224, filed 2012-07, 76,000 miles

“The power steering assist has all but stopped working, with steering now difficult at lower speed--especially when I first start the engine in the morning. The clutch doesn't respond well and the vehicle no longer goes into second gear. The rear left brake caliper seized in place, not allowing the brake pad to retract completely and therefore the brake pad continuously rubbed against the disc, but without noise. Not until the left rear brake made noise because of the metal on metal braking was the seized oem caliper identified, when I put on a set of new brake pads. …”

NHTSA complaint #11311300, filed 2020-02, 77,500 miles

“In cold weather the driver side parking brake freezes/sticks. One of many examples was this morning. It was 27 degrees in my garage and I was able to drive with no problems, I drove for a few miles with the car fully warmed up. I stopped for coffee and left the car running (wife in car) and returned no more than 5 minutes later. When I tried to drive the parking brake was not released all the way. After driving a short distance the passenger rear brake was cool to the touch but the driver side was radiating heat and smelled of burning brakes. This is an unacceptable flaw and can be dangerous. …”

“Dt: consumer's wife parked the car on a slight incline in the driveway, about 3-5 minutes later, she heard a loud crash. The car was in the woods. The car had rolled down the driveway a total of about 150 feet. Dealer said there might be a problem with the parking brake. This was the first failure.
