The contact stated that the engine was making an abnormal thumping sound. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was inspected by the dealer after the first failure, and the contact was informed that the failure might be caused by bad gasoline. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the cause of the failure could not be determined. …”

“The contact's son owned a 2020 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel seized and the vehicle lost motive power. The contact's son was able to restart the vehicle, drove to a local convenience store, and parked the vehicle. The contact was exiting the convenience store and noticed a fire exiting from the front hood of the vehicle. The store employee gave the contact's son a fire extinguisher, however the flames were too intense. The fire department and the police were called. The fire department extinguished the fire. …”
