“Problem has been on going for 2.5 months. Dealer has had car for over a month and has been unable to diagnos or cure the problem. I've spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars on fixes that they have recommended. None have worked and their corporate has not given me any support in this matter. When the failure occurs the car's engine shuts off with no warning. Power steering and brakes go out rendering the vehicle a hazard to myself and all other drivers around my on busy hwys. If there is any assistance that your organization can provide me I would greatly appreciate it! …”

“Upon driving my vehicle 5/12/99 the drivebelt began shredding. 5/13/99 the problem fixed with both belts being replaced. While driving on 5/14/99 a belt fell off, resulting both belts gone and loss of A/C as well as power steering. Problem fixed again with mechanic suggesting that belts may not have fit properly and replaced with factory parts. 5/25/99 while driving I noticed a loss in power steering and A/C again I immediately inspected and saw the belts once again missing. Frusterated I went the nearest dealership and asked what may be wrong with the car. …”

Had applied brakes which stopped vehicle suddenly. Driver hit head on windshield due to air bag not deploying. Was able to back vehicle up & steering worked okay. Had emergency room treatment & released.”

Vehicle was taken in 6/29/99 for recall sr-99-007 and for second recall on 4/13/01 for sr-01-007, lower lateral arm ball joint. Dealer was informed of steering problem which seemed to occur when raining. Accident occured after several days of intermittent rain.
