“I have a 2007 Mitsubishi eclipes gs. That has over 160,000 miles. For the last 9 months or even longer my husband has to push the passenger side dash board down where the airbag is to cover it back. No, I haven't took it to a dealer yet, I figure with the warranty off of the car, the dealer ship would say I have to pay to fix it. I have no money to fix it. So, I'm hoping that someone will read this and tell me that there is a recall on it so, it can be fixed the right way. I hope the passenger side airbag(dash board) works incase of a accident. …”
NHTSA complaint #10918093, filed 2016-10, 160,000 miles“The front of my dashboard (the airbag sits behind it) is coming off of my vehicle. It is on the passenger's side. I contacted the Mitsubishi dealer in charleston, sc and he informed me that he had seen numerous vehicles with the same problem (Mitsubishi). I consider this to be a safety hazard because once this piece of material falls off there will be nothing to protect the passenger from the airbag at any time. I was informed it would cost $1,200 to fix. The entire dashboard needs to be replaced. My vehicle doesn't even have 100,000 miles on it yet. …”

The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 52,500.”
