1993: “There was a recall (97v063001) concerning the door latch which could malfunction which would cause the shoulder belt anchorage to remain at the a-pillar when the door was closed. When the vehicle was started, the automatic seat belts did not engage. The seat belt did not slide on the rail properly. There was a recall for the same vehicle only one year earlier, but the consumer's vehicle was not included due to VIN. (right rear door)”
NHTSA complaint #10067406, filed 2004-05, 99,000 miles1992: “Consumer received recall 97v063001 concerning seat belt failure. When vehicle was started automatic seat belts did not engage. The seat belt did not slide on the rail properly. This vehicle was repaired under the recall once, but the problem recurred.”
NHTSA complaint #10067407, filed 2004-05, 70,000 miles1994: “On july 6, 1999, at approximately 7:00 p.m. While driving the above mentioned vehicle I heard a thump and noticed the car would not accelerate. I was going aproximately 45 MPH and had to swerve onto the shoulder to avoid being rear ended. It is noted, on march 12, 1999, I brought this vehicle to a Mitsubishi dealer after noticing a jerk between 1st and 2nd gears. I was charged $95.00 for a transmission diagnostic test and was told the transmission was fine.”
