“The contact owns a 2007 Mitsubishi Galant. While driving approximately 30 MPH, fuel fumes emitted into the vehicle. On a different occasion, while refueling the vehicle, fuel poured out from underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The VIN was excluded from NHTSA campaign number: 08v454000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 108,000.”

She drove the vehicle a few days later and heard a ticking noise. She stopped the vehicle and found that the failure only occurs when the vehicle is not in motion. The dealer stated that nothing could be done and attempted to sell her another vehicle. The failure is considered a safety hazard. The NHTSA campaign id number was unknown. The failure and current mileages were 22,000.”
