“Rear liftgate lock release handle Mitsubishi part number 5810A089 (100% electrical) failed due to excessive moisture penatration in this area causing abnormal rust to the liftgate in the same location. I now notice other vehicles like mine have the same rust condition in the same area. I wash the vehicle on a regular basis and I keep it in a heated garage when I'm home.”
NHTSA complaint #11506215, filed 2023-02“The contact owns a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. The contact stated that while driving, the contact felt as is the vehicle was about to lose control. Additionally, while accelerating, the contact almost lost control of the vehicle control. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V144000 (Suspension, Structure); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The dealer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 124,175.”
