“I had just purchased this vehicle cash on friday, july 7, 2006. It had 27 miles when purchased. On friday, july 14, 2006, I was driving on a 2 lane road on military base in san antonio when the vehicle shut off as I was making a right turn. The vehicle would not start. Everything else worked in the vehicle except start. I am currently stationed at the above post for 3 months while in training and purchased this vehicle at a local car dealer. …”
NHTSA complaint #10162523, filed 2006-07, 95 miles“I have a 2006 Mitsubishi Raider that has electrical issues, sometimes the dash lights go out, all the gauges quit working, including speedometer and the radio cuts off.....sometimes daily, weekly, monthly. Even after taking to dealer numerous times. Rear brakes have been locking up and 'dragging' upon stopping sometimes, hasn't done it lately, I think the part may have finally broke. There is a recall on this item, but dealer says my truck was not in that series of serial numbers the defect was found in, although it does the same thing as the recalled trucks made the same year as mine. …”
NHTSA complaint #10308139, filed 2010-02, 5,000 miles“Got truck may 2007 from a toyota dealer with 15k miles after driving it for a day with no problems. After papers were signed, I started the engine and the check engine light was on. The toyota dealership told me to take it to a Mitsubishi dealership since it was still under warranty. The engine ran fine. The following day the check engine light was no longer on. The Mitsubishi dealership said it may have been caused by the gas cap being loosened by the toyota dealership when they filled the gas tank at the time of purchase. …”
NHTSA complaint #10366252, filed 2010-11“Bought a 2006 mitsibushi Raider broke down the first day I took it home. Should have told them to shove it then. I had a friend that worked there and trusted her that they would fix the problem. Got the truck back and the whole speedometer broke. It wouldn't go into drive or park. Just sit there like it was in neutral. I drove more rental cars and cars off their lot than I probably have drove the truck. It continues to do the same thing over and over again. I believe the last count was 15 times in the shop for the same thing. Everyone keeps telling me you have a warranty don't worry about it. …”
NHTSA complaint #10220398, filed 2008-03“The contact owns a 2006 Mitsubishi Raider. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. After several attempts, the vehicle started and the motor warning light and security light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing and the mechanic stated the there was low voltage to the transmission. The failure recurred multiple times intermittently. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 125,000.”
