“Powertrain: automatic transmission while driving on a speed of about 65-75 MPH on the freeway/interstate and all of a sudden I have to slow down by stepping on the brake and then releasing the brake to continue moving again after the speed goes down to about 35-45 MPH, the check engine light comes on and you can hear the engine revving like it is stuck on third gear instead of shifting to fourth gear. I have been to an authorized napa auto repair shop and the code they found out was a sensor problem. …”

“Vehicle: 2006 Mitsubishi Raider pickup truck failure: automatic transmission shifts out of gear spontaneously. Description: on occasion, when initiating movement in forward or reverse gear, the vehicle will begin to move in the desired direction, then the gear selection lever will spontaneously move into the neutral position, disengaging the transmission. This results in a vehicle that either coasts (based on its momentum) or rolls in the direction determined by the grade of the road/ driving surface.”

NHTSA complaint #10342368, filed 2010-07, 41,000 miles

“While driving my 2006 Mitsubishi Raider, I was leaving a customer’s home with a load on my truck. The first issue I encountered was that the truck struggled to exit the driveway. Then, I realized I couldn't shift into reverse. Shortly after, it seemed like the gas line or speed mechanism malfunctioned. Suddenly, the truck accelerated uncontrollably, going full speed straight into a house.luckily I braked in time no accident no report just towed truck tó customers house with aaa after the incident”

NHTSA complaint #11633998, filed 2025-01

“The contact owns a 2006 Mitsubishi Raider. The contact stated that while driving at low speeds through a residential area, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power, prompting the contact to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway at the end of a cul-de-sac and shift the vehicle into park. Upon attempting to exit the cul-de-sac the contact stated that the vehicle failed to shift into reverse, after which the contact shifted the vehicle back into drive. …”

NHTSA complaint #11638125, filed 2025-01, 147,000 miles

“Bought a 2006 mitsibushi Raider broke down the first day I took it home. Should have told them to shove it then. I had a friend that worked there and trusted her that they would fix the problem. Got the truck back and the whole speedometer broke. It wouldn't go into drive or park. Just sit there like it was in neutral. I drove more rental cars and cars off their lot than I probably have drove the truck. It continues to do the same thing over and over again. I believe the last count was 15 times in the shop for the same thing. Everyone keeps telling me you have a warranty don't worry about it. …”
