Example complaints
Engine: “While staying at a campground in Creede, Colorado my motorhome displayed several fault codes relating to the emissions system. I immediately called Spartan (the chassis manufacturer) to report the faults and they explained my Def Head sensor had failed and that I should try to get to an authorized service center as ASAP. So the following morning I left Creede ( a remote location that is far away from any authorized service provider) in route to Fredrick, Colorado, the closest service provider. …”
NHTSA complaint #11425360, filed 2021-07Electrical system: “There was previously a recall on the power distribution modules on these Chassis the recall was insufficient, and these PMs continue to fail. This is a very much a safety hazard as the PDM controls lights as well as the electric fan clutch, which can cause the engine to overheat leaving you stranded on the road also it can cause lights to fail and the operator does not know they have failed. The issue tends to be intermittent in nature and very difficult to diagnose. I have contacted freightliner directly about this issue and they were of no help. …”
