“Hello, I was leaving a stop sign barely moving and all of a sudden it sounded like a gun going off in my car. Before I could grasp my next thought my car flipped completely over on its side no tires touching the ground! I had to crawl out passenger window . Upon inspection of vehicle this is what was found.”

NHTSA complaint #11243828, filed 2019-08, 155 miles

“On 2004 Nissan 350Z the convertible top will stick in the half open half closed position. Nissan will not help fix this costly repair $2200-$3000. The motors that control the top called the (fifth bow motor) will go out without notice. No way to manually close the top. Many others on Nissan forum site have reported this same issue. I paid Nissan to fix this problem cost me $2800.00. Now it is doing the same thing less than 3 years later. (I can supply the part number is needed).”

NHTSA complaint #10578468, filed 2014-04, 85,000 miles

“My 2004 350Z roadster's convertible top retracts into holder when down, but the cover of that area will not completely close consistently. Approximately, 80% of the time, the cover stops two to three inches before it should and the convertible top open light indicator is on. After two-five tries, the cover will eventually close. My dealership has tried to fix the problem three times unsuccessfully with service taking one to three days.”

NHTSA complaint #10149326, filed 2006-02, 19,000 miles

“I was involved in a near fatal auto accident, which Nissan didn't report to the death and injury reports done every quarter per annual year. The accident almost left me paralyzed and I broke over 6 bones in various body part locations due to the car not living up to the safety features the maker boasted to have which falsely lead me to buy the car and nearly killed me during an accident, at no fault of mine. The accident was on 1-18-2006, the vehicle a total loss, and occurred in arizona on interstate 51 in phoenix az. …”

NHTSA complaint #10268543, filed 2009-05, 6,000 miles

“While driving and reaching for something consumer struck head on the left side of the convertible top. The same metal was on the passenger's side. The design for the top was flawed. Cutaway of hinges on right and left sides at head level. The consumer stated that the defected peice would pierce the skull on side impact.”
