“My 2004 Nissan pathfinder Armada, radiator had an internal leak witch made my transmission fluid mix with my coolant fluid an now I need a new transmission and a radiator . Nissan fails to help me with my issue. When there was a earlier lawsuit on a very similar if not the same problem with the Nissan trucks from 2005 to 2010 . I have now spoke with different mechanic's and they say that this is a very known issue with all their trucks. …”
NHTSA complaint #10550856, filed 2013-11, 76,646 miles“I was driving on the freeway with my family at approx. 70 MPH, when the engine shut down instantaneously. This was a very potentially dangerous situation, with cars going by all around us at 70+ MPH. After we stopped, I tried starting the engine again a number of times, but there was nothing. The tow truck operator came 10 minutes later, & he said try it one more time. I did, & it started immediately, & I was able to drive off the freeway. I drove it on surface streets to get home from there, & then it died one more time. However, this time it started up again & we reached home. …”
NHTSA complaint #10568209, filed 2014-03, 140,000 miles“This is in regards to the exhaust manifolds. This is the second time I have had to replace them. The first time they were still under warranty. My 2004 Armada was at 66k miles. The Nissan deal that I took the vehicle too told me that Nissan has problems with their manifolds. They corrected the issue, but almost exactly 66k miles later the manifolds have again cracked. Now I am outside of warranty and required to pay for a replacement that is clearly a defect in the Nissan product. Manifolds should not be going bad after 66k miles.”
NHTSA complaint #10351960, filed 2010-08, 66,000 miles“I was driving on wednesday the 19, 2009. My truck stalled on a major road. I was almost rearended with my children in the car. Could not pull car off to side. Had to have it towed. Found out that my ipdm had gone out and flooded my engine with gas. Talked to Nissan dealership they are back-ordered 250 units of these ipdm's. Said they have 10-15 trucks in each week. Looked at internet it is flooded with cases just like mine. Very scary my children were in the car. It was a easy fix once we got new part. Something need to be done not safe.”
NHTSA complaint #10289642, filed 2009-10, 60,000 miles“My problem started around 12/5/08 when my truck died unexpectedly. It restarted then later more of the same on the same voyage. Local Nissan was contacted that day and an appointment was set for 12/15/08. At that appointment it was determined that it was caused by the vehicle security function and was reset and key was reprogrammed. They had noted that the exhaust manifolds had failed and needed replacement. The mileage was 81,470, 1470 miles over the federal warranty. My mileage was arguably under the 80,000 warranty limit when the appointment was made a week prior. …”
