Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“The first day after receiving the car and getting onto the highway I noticed the vehicle would exhibit harsh vibrations. It was too much vibration to be tolerated. I scheduled an appointment with my local service dealer they rotated and balanced the tires, adjusted the steering rack (a TSB issued) and found my front passenger side strut had blown. I had to drive a whole month with a blown strut to wait for parts to get in and it was very dangerous. The violent vibrations were still not taken care of. That was the first trip. …”

NHTSA complaint #10098797, filed 2004-11, 2,400 miles

“Safety concern regarding the front end. I've had to take my truck in for vibration of steering wheel and front end when slowing down at stop signs, lights, or parking. The vibration is only when slowing down and it feels like it radiates towards the rear end right before the complete stop. I've had to take my truck in for 4 times due to the front end. Three, because of the vibration and once in dec. For red fluid dripping and getting all over the bottom and side of truck while coming back from a christmas trip about 7hrs away. I was told it had something to do with the rack and pinion. …”

NHTSA complaint #10118394, filed 2005-04, 6,000 miles

“There has been a vibration in the steering since purchase (now 14000 miles). Was originally told that the car has to be broken in and then dealer balanced tires. The car is now at the dealer for the 3rd time.”
