Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“I was driving in the right hand lane on Interstate 95 with my cruise control on. My speed was approximately 65 mph. In the distance I could see a tow truck stopped in the breakdown lane with it's warning lights flashing. I proceeded to move into the next lane to my left. All of a sudden my vehicle began to brake hard by itself and a message that included 25 mph began flashing on my dash in the middle. …”

“We were travelling in our Nissan Frontier. It started running poorly and smoke began pouring out from under the hood. We jumped out and soon the entire front end was engulfed in flames. It was a total loss.”

NHTSA complaint #11671231, filed 2025-07

“I purchased a pre-owned certified vehicle in June of 2025 it was a 2023 model with approximately 23k miles on it. In August of 2026 I was driving on the interstate and the vehicles warning lights came on and the vehicle shut down completely at a speed of 70 mph. The safety flashers quit working along with the headlights leaving the vehicle totally dark on a remote section of Interstate at night. I had the vehicle towed to a Nissan dealership and I was sent a video of what happened from the certified Nissan technician. I can provide the link to the video upon request. …”

NHTSA complaint #11763659, filed 2026-09

“Some mechanism in the door is bad. I get locked out of the vehicle when the truck is unlocked. On multiple occasions this door and truck will try to lock itself with the keys still inside (the warning alarm will go off). To get back into the truck I have to lock the door and unlock it even though the door was unlocked to begin with. If the situation were to arise where this door is stuck closed with the keys inside the vehicle, it can cause many issues for the owner/operator (This happened to me once, but the other side was not jammed fortunately). …”

NHTSA complaint #11593632, filed 2024-06

“While towing a travel trailer the 7 blade tow wiring harness failed. Harness shorted out melding the connection and blowing replaceable fusible link (PN 24 370-C9906). Main wiring harness plug end melted and could have cause a fire.”
