“My family and I departed the dealership around 7:27 PM with our 2025 Nissan Kicks that only had 4,500 miles on it. My step son and I were driving the new car home. We got maybe a mile from our house and I heard a small pop and started smelling gas really bad. Once we pulled onto our road I heard another pop, all of the lights came on the dash and a bunch of white smoke came from the hood of the car. I put the car in park and turned the engine off and got me and my step son out to the car. …”
NHTSA complaint #11751256, filed 2026-07“After a refuel, I noticed the gas was being auto stopped before what I know to be full based on length of time pumping and cost. After driving several days the gas meter did not lose notches despite the mileage showing a decrease in available miles. I am concerned I will be driving and run out of gas at a dangerous time due to not being able to read an accurate fuel level. I took the vehicle to Orr Nissan west in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where they confirmed the discrepancy and they stated this is an issue they have being seeing nationwide.”
NHTSA complaint #11770735, filed 2026-10“I received a recall notice on my 2025 Nissan Kicks. I took my vehicle to the dealer where I purchased it to get the recall repaired on 8/7/2026. The repair was quoted to be completed within 2 hours. After 5 hours the repairs were not completed and my vehicle is inoperable. I was provided a loaner car to use while my vehicle is there. I have kept in contact with the manufacturer (called on 8/14/26) and the dealer over the last two weeks. I have not been provided much information other than my car is inoperable and that there are several other Nissan Kicks that are in the same condition. …”
NHTSA complaint #11758941, filed 2026-08“To the New York City Department of Transportation (DOT): I picked up a new car on January 11, and on January 28, I discovered a 10-inch crack on the inside of the front windshield. On February 1, I took the vehicle to a Nissan service center for inspection, and they confirmed the presence of another crack. As a vehicle manufacturer, Nissan should have the professional equipment necessary to inspect the windshield for cracks. However, since I filed my complaint with Nissan on February 1, it has now been over 20 days, and I have yet to receive any resolution or formal response. …”
NHTSA complaint #11645082, filed 2025-02“Blind spot warning does not come on until the vehicle is past you, and the display screen that has your speed and everything else on it is fading again, this is the second screen they have had to put in my car. and the steering wheel moves when it is in the locked position you will be driving down the road and then out of know where the steering wheel will just start moving without being unlocked.”
