“The low beam headlights on my 2014 Nissan Maxima are so dim it truly is a serious safety concern. I literally cannot see 2 feet in front of my car at any speed. My blinkers emit more lummis than my low beams. Needs to be recalled as I have researched and found hundreds of Nissan owners with the same problem.”

NHTSA complaint #11315425, filed 2020-03, 115,000 miles

“The low beam headlights on my 2014 Nissan Maxima s are so dim that I am scared to drive my car at night. The high beams are as bright as the low beams should be. We have replaced with top of the line bulbs & it hasn't helped at all. This is a serious safety issue & Nissan needs to address this before people are injured because they can't see well enough to drive. Another issue with my car is airbags not deploying as they should. My car collided with a 18-wheeler on the interstate. The 18-wheeler came over into my lane latching onto the passenger side of my car. …”

NHTSA complaint #11342861, filed 2020-08, 100,000 miles

“Recently bought a used 2014 Nissan Maxima. The low beam headlights are so dim that the car is dangerous to drive at night. Took it to the dealer and they said this is a common problem for this car; opaque and yellowing material inside the sealed headlight assembly which cannot be accessed. Both headlight assemblies will have to be changed out, which requires removing the bumper.”

NHTSA complaint #11170345, filed 2019-01, 90,000 miles

“The headlights at night are too dim to be safely driven. I have replaced the bulbs and this has no affect. There is a defect with the whole assembly that has been reported by other Maxima and altima owners.”

NHTSA complaint #11297062, filed 2020-01, 45,000 miles

“Driver side headlight intermittently shuts off and dims while driving and stationary. Switching lights from on to automatic or vice-versa relights the bulb.”

NHTSA complaint #11375556, filed 2020-11, 88,000 miles
