“My van will randomly sound like it is neutral when it is in drive and it loses acceleration when this occurs. The frequency it has been occurring and duration is increasing. It will now lose acceleration and the rpms will randomly increase while driving. The rental van that we drove did the same thing. Reports from other 2017 nv 3500 owners state that their vans are doing the same thing. …”
NHTSA complaint #11005443, filed 2017-07, 500 miles“Since I purchased in april, brand new, it happened few times that fan make very loud noise while driving. When it happens, it makes that noise and when I push accelerator pedal, its not engaging. Dealer replaced fan (7/21/2017) but happened again. So I went back to the dealer 8/16/2017. Dealer found out main engine fan and auxiliary fan is not working property. There is no connection between the two. Nissan opened a case and car is still sitting at the dealer until engineer comes out on 9/8/17.”
NHTSA complaint #11020185, filed 2017-08, 8,500 miles“When accelerating in low gears, there is a loud fan noise. Loss of power, and a very high revving engine just before shifting to next higher gear. When finally reach 40 MPH or so, revving goes down but very load fan/engine noise is still there. This has happened several times. The latest was 09/21. The first was on 08/06 on the interstate in tennessee. Just purchased van in mid august. Only 1200 miles on it. Taking it to dealer tomorrow but they don't believe me that something is wrong. Worried that it will damage engine or transmission and leave me stranded somewhere.”
