Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Weird electrical problems,I have taken to 2 different people, 1 of which specializes in transmissions, the problem is that when the vehicle is warmed up the transmission doesn't know what gear it is in, on initial investigation the problem appears to be the trottle position sensor but that was replaced and still no fix. They hooked up computers to the car while driving and say the computer doesn't read the tps being operative during driving but no problems can be found with the wiring and computer board. …”

NHTSA complaint #10070045, filed 2004-01, 53,706 miles

“At any speed even stopped the locks lock and unlock without even touching the button. The van can be sitting still, the keys out, and no one near the car and you can hear the locks locking and unlocking. My children have been locked in and we have had to break a window to get them out. I could not unlock with the keys or the remote. It would not let me. Also the sliding door pops open at various speeds and conditions even on level surfaces with no bumps. This causes the interior lights to come on and the door ajar light to come on. It happens even if the doors are locked.”

NHTSA complaint #760139, filed 2002-04

“We have problems with the doors locking and unlocking for no reason while driving. Windows on driver and passenger side where lowered while driving; then when raised on the drivers side it would move. With engine turned off tried to raise window, no success. Found recall 98v-012.002 turned engine on, then off, opened only passenger door and then window would go up.”

NHTSA complaint #10043270, filed 2003-10

“Airbag light had been flashing. Consumer called to dealer who stated repair might cost between $500 - $ 2000 . Not repaired. The air conditioning and heating smoked real bad and had quit.”
