Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Front driver's side seat belt failed to stay fastened. The belt plate popped back out of the buckle when fastened. There wasn't anything jammed in the buckle. Dealer will be contacted.”

NHTSA complaint #10099958, filed 2004-11, 340 miles

“Outer rear seat belts do not work properly. There is stitching in the seat belt that does not allow the clasp to move freely. The clasp gets stuck below the stitching and it gets stuck above the stitching. I child cannot work the seat belt properly. Once the clasp is below the stitching will it work properly in an accident?”
