After a few minutes and several attempts she was able to restart the vehicle and return home. On another occasion while I was driving the vehicle around town I experienced a similar incident when again without warning the van shut completely off as I was approaching an intersection on a red light. After bringing the vehicle to a complete stop without braking assist or power steering it restarted after a few attempts. …”

NHTSA complaint #10722443, filed 2015-05, 150,000 miles

“Had to replace complete transmission. Lack of power and no reverse. Based on research a huge percentage of Nissan Quest, Nissan maxima and Nissan altima from 2005 have this issue, and no recalls was issued nor Nissan dealer accountable for problem. Problem happened on the freeway, had lack of power, move to the side of the road and stop, put car in park, tried reverse gear, and was not working, tried drive gear and it moves forward but with very little power. Took it to the mechanic and and after several inspection he told me I needed to change the transmission.”
