“Will start, run 5 minutes then die. The wiring to the radiator fan fuse box is burnt. Took it to Nissan dealer who replaced the burnt wires, cost $75. They said the engine wiring needed replaced. I called a dealer near home and they said it would cost $3000 to fix this. This is half of what the car is worth. We have replaced the fuel filter, fuel pump, and ignition coil.”
NHTSA complaint #10070046, filed 2004-01, 115,000 miles“I bought this vehicle used, with approximately 106000 miles. The key comes out of the ignition without being in park. I can even take the key out of the ignition while the vehicle is running or driving down the road. The first time I parked after purchasing the vehicle, I forgot to put it in park and came out of a store and the vehicle had rolled to the middle of the parking lot. Thankfully it hadn't hit another vehicle. When I put it in park, I have to be careful to make sure it is in gear before I exit the vehicle. Keyless entry doesn't work if the car is running.”
NHTSA complaint #10071197, filed 2004-01“I've been having problems with my van stalling on me in. It usually happens in hot temperatures, but lately has been happening in average temps. The engine light comes on and there is a very loud humming noise coming from the back of my van. Very scary! It sounds like it will explode! This started happening about 1998. In august 1998, we were evacuating for a hurricane and we were left stranded on the interstate. It was hot and the traffic was really bad. We didn't know what to do! We waited around for about an hour and then tried to start the engine and it worked! …”
NHTSA complaint #740876, filed 2001-02“Indicator lights work intermittently. Engine check light/oil light, etc. Come on, and go off, alternating among themselves. Dealer contacted, and cannot duplicate the problem.”
