“Takara recall - while driving on freeway at 70 MPH on the freeway, vehicle stopped accelerating and I was forced to pull over. The vehicle then shut itself off. After a few minutes I was able to restart my car but it would only accelerate slowly up to 20 MPH. My car did get up to 55 MPH finally but I was not able to return to my selected route home. Was forced to drive with hazards on by way of a country highway only.”
NHTSA complaint #11113456, filed 2018-07, 89,000 miles“Transmission failed with only 54k miles on on july 20th while driving on the highway. I could not go any faster than 40mph and had to pull over on the side of the road. My air conditioning also stopped working in 90 degree weather.”
NHTSA complaint #11235296, filed 2019-07, 54,000 miles“Takata recall I lose power going down the road after about an hour to hour in a half..my RPM go way high but my speed drop and I have to stop and let the car cool and try to start again on my trip.”
NHTSA complaint #11184622, filed 2019-03, 85,000 miles“Car won't turn on randomly. We have replaced the battery five times. Each time the car randomly stops working every few thousand miles. The car will take ten or eleven tries to start. This is extremely dangerous. If for any reason we ever needed to leave the car cannot start quickly. It happens randomly, not all the time (sometimes it starts fine after one turn, the next time it could take five minutes to finally start, then go back to fine). No one has been able to tell us what is the cause of this defect.”
NHTSA complaint #11143722, filed 2018-10, 45,000 miles“Was driving down the highway and the rpms went too 4000 and our speed was 45 MPH. Came back home and it wouldn't go over 1000 RPM not getting any power. I believe it was the transmission”
