Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Our drivers side window started making a funny noise and then it fell into the door. We took it in and they said the bracket that holds it onto the motor was broken, and we had to buy a whole new motor. So we replaced it in august 2007. It started giving us problems again in april 2008. The part is now totally broken and we are again replacing the motor and brackets. In the meantime we have had the exact same problem with our passengers side window. We hardly ever roll down our windows and are very upset to have experienced this problem with 3 separate units.”

NHTSA complaint #10230139, filed 2008-06, 86,000 miles

“My car had something go wrong with the intake gaskets to where the plastic melted to the engine, the car had to be taken in for several days and the engine had to be taken out and cleaned and all of the intake gaskets were replaced. The car still does not run properly, when attempting to pick up speed or climb a hill the car does not shift and at times looses speed. This continues to this day, the dealer states nothing is wrong. The gas needle will read full and then the car will run out of gas this has happened on the middle of the highway leaving me stranded and several times around town. …”
