NHTSA complaint #10156648, filed 2006-05, 189,200 miles“Dt: the drivers side air bag deployed while sitting in the driveway. Grand daughter had turned the key in the ignition, but did not start vehicle. This happened on june 27,2005. Contacted the chevrolet dealer, and found out there was an open recall and to notify Oldsmobile. Contacted Oldsmobile, and they said to notifiy GM, did that, and they sent out a investigator last thursday. Then, received a letter from GM to give the same information that consumer already gave 5 or 6 times.”
NHTSA complaint #10129478, filed 2005-07, 100,000 miles“The contact owns a 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass supreme. The contact stated that while sitting at a traffic stop, another vehicle crashed into the contact. The air bags did not deploy and the vehicle was destroyed. The contact suffered injuries to the head and was currently hospitalized. The contact called the manufacturer regarding the non-deployment of the air bags and the manufacturer stated that there was nothing they could do to assist. The failure mileage was 168,000. The VIN was not available. Updated 2/9/12”
NHTSA complaint #10406158, filed 2011-06, 168,000 miles“On friday 10/6/2000 while my sister driving the car, the airbag light in the dashboard comes on with no reason. My sister then desided to take it to the Oldsmobile dealership the next morning. The next day, while starting the car, the airbag deployed in her face. I took the car to arnold palmer Oldsmobile in charlotte. The service department told me they will check on any recalls by the manufacture. After ten days, they told me there is no recall and the problem was from the horn modula. I think thy did not want to blame it on the manufacture. I would like an answer rather than a cover up.”
NHTSA complaint #734843, filed 2000-10“Consumer has scheduled several appointments with dealership regarding recall 00v17100/ air bag repairs. Dealership ordered part to service consumer's vehicle, and part was installed on another vehicle. Parts manager said he would contact consumer when new part came in. Consumer has yet to hear anything regarding the status of part needed to repair defect.”
