“At 35,000 my '99 olds burns 2 quarts of oil every 1000 miles! I just purchased the vehicle with a 60 day 100% engine and drive train coverage so the dealer is going to "fix" the problem. I have heard the GM 3.4 l engine is famous for poor pistons in all years. This engine is already shot at 35k miles and I feel can't possibly be repaired adequately...it should be replaced but the dealer won't do it.”
NHTSA complaint #10070290, filed 2004-01, 35,000 miles“While driving at 50 MPH consumer took the wrong road and ended up on a dead end road. Consumer slammed on the brakes to avoid crashing into the guard rail, but crashed into it anyway. Upon impact, none of the frontal air bags deployed. No injuries were reported due to the occupants being retrained in the seat belts.”
NHTSA complaint #10079693, filed 2004-06, 69,000 miles“I had to have my airbag replaced last year due to the airbag light coming on intermittently and the dealer announcing that it was a bad sensor. We did not argue with the dealer in that these are airbags and we did not want to risk our family. I am frustrated in that I have recently had a discussion with someone who owns the same make, model and year and has had this happen twice to her. I have reviewed the complaints on your site and can see that others have had the same issue.”
NHTSA complaint #10058255, filed 2004-02“Airbag light is blinking on and off. Took vehicle to dealer and they replaced electrical system going to airbag. Problem has reoccurred. The air bag had been repaired eight times. Each time the dealer replaced different parts of the air bag, but the problem still exists.”
NHTSA complaint #8006828, filed 2002-04“Airbag light came on. Took vehicle to dealer, and dealer stated that both driver's side and passenger's side airbags would not deploy. . Dealer replaced both passenger's side and driviers side sensors. Please provide any further information.”
