Example complaints

One per model year, chosen for length and detail. Personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

1997: “I was in my way to work when it was raining ever time it rains the belts comes off this is very dangerous. I had no power steering at all when this happen with muscle I managed to pull over onto the shoulder of the road. Once water hits the tension wheel belt it knocks it off which makes it slide off every time.”

NHTSA complaint #10760181, filed 2015-08, 147,000 miles

1994: “My cruise control system does not work. I have checked all the fuses. They are all ok. When contacting several mechanic and reading on-line from other owners with similar problem, it is commonly revealed that the air bag spring in the steering wheel may have gone bad which is not uncommon. The vehicle, otherwise is operable. I wonder if this revelation is true, are there any other serious risks that could be associated with this.”

NHTSA complaint #10898913, filed 2016-08, 196,000 miles

1999: “Air bag light stays on and has since first purchased, horn has not worked for about 8 months, cruise control quit working 3 months ago. Reading other complaints it appears there was a recall stating the problem is with the column clock spring. If I could receive a recall for the manufacturer to just provide a replacement column clock spring my nephew would place it on the van.”
