“Both rear windows have fallen to their stops. They are currently being held shut with clear packaging tape. Both windows failed within 2 months of each other. The second window failed on christmas eve night 2005 when my son just shut the door. Gm wants approximately $1000 to fix both. The sad part is that we don't even use the rear windows. Gm claims there is no problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10150881, filed 2006-02, 58,000 miles

“There are no events leading up to the failures. Three windows in this vehicle are inoperable because the motor quit. Initially, the window will either not go up or down and then all of a sudden it will work. One window has had the wiring clipped because I couldn't afford the part. The other 2 we just don't use.”

NHTSA complaint #10136470, filed 2005-09, 63,000 miles

“Since I owned the car I have had these things fixed: 1 window regulator, 1 power steering pump replaced, power steering work (after the power steering pump was replaced) hood repainted and ignition switch replaced. Now I need to have 2 window regulators replaced at $400 a piece. I'm having some load humming noise when using brakes but I had the brakes replaced and it did not fix the problem. The trunk leaks so I can not use it because everything gets wet.”

NHTSA complaint #10068035, filed 2004-04, 65,000 miles

“Within a months time I have had to replace both rear window regulator assemblies in my 2000 Pontiac Bonneville. The first window went down on its own and would not go back up. Less than a month later, the other window did the same. I took the car to a local dealership on 2 separate occasions to have this fixed. These parts are very expensive. I find it odd that a 5 year old car with only 60,000 miles should have such a problem, especially in such a short period of time. Could you give me some insight on why this could be.”

NHTSA complaint #10130741, filed 2005-08, 60,000 miles

“I have 2000 Pontiac Bonneville. Left rear window was not moving up. Dealership had changed window regulator. It cost me about $406.47. Lots of consumer of this vehicle have same problem.”
