2010: “Traction control light comes on and the dash says service ESC and then flashes power steering and then the power steering stops working. Sometimes the power steering just stops working and I never know when it's going to happen, I don't have the money to fix this so I have no choice but to drive it and this has almost gotten me into several accidents”

After checking, I found that there is a recall concerning problem. Recall date 3/31/14 with the 2005-2009 Pontiac G6. I contacted the GM representative at the 1800 number and was told that this recall doesn't pertain to the particular 09 G6 that I have purchased.”
NHTSA complaint #11389070, filed 2021-01, 140,000 miles2006: “While backing out of the post office parking lot my power steering failed and I had to muscle to car out of incoming traffic (a truck was headed toward me). I pulled in the turn lane and a car narrowly missed me trying to get in the turn lane too. I had to drive home 35 miles an hour with hazard lights on to get home. I was on highway m-37 near bedford, michigan.”
