“There have been more than I can count on both hands to the incidents that this care has stalled. It happens unexpectedly and I never know when it is going to happen, but it always seems to happen when I am in the middle of traffic. So, I have to pull over and try and start the car. Which it will start then sputter and stall and die. …”

NHTSA complaint #10326920, filed 2010-04, 92,000 miles

“All I did was park my car in a hotel parking lot and went into the lounge. About 10 minutes later the intercom was saying a Pontiac was on fire. I went outside to find my car on fire under the hood . Fire department was notified and responded to put out the fire..the car was destroyed.”

NHTSA complaint #10222513, filed 2008-03, 100,000 miles

“Smelling gasoline when car was parked in garage. The smell was variable but seemed to be stronger when weather was hot. I checked the fuel injectors to be certain no o-ring was leaking. None were leaking but I noticed small amount of gasoline on the valve cover on the valve cover closet to the firewall. Checking I found that by depressing the quick connect between the fuel line and the fuel rail I could make a small amount of gasoline escape. …”

NHTSA complaint #10286171, filed 2009-10, 175,000 miles

“My 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix has a fuel pump resistor problem which is quiet common because of it's location. My car broke down 4 times and was towed 3 times through aaa and 1 time out of pocket $300 from outside syracuse to watertown, ny. Plus out of pocket expenses for repairs approx. $425.”

NHTSA complaint #10168657, filed 2006-09, 78,000 miles

“I was driving along, and suddenly without warning, the engine died...naturally the power steering and power brakes didn't work, but I managed to get the car over to the curb. I tried to start it and it started just fine, so I took it home, I was nervous after that driving it ! Because after that it continued to stall several more times when I was driving it, I never knew when it would happen. So I couldn't go out of town in it that's for sure ! I spent quite a bit of money for mechanics to work on it, but since it didn't show a code of any kind, no one could fix it for me. …”
