“Headlights on 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix bounce under bumpy conditions. Causes a distration to both driver and other motorists. I've been yelled at by other motorists that my lights are distracting and simulate the flashing lights of a police car. I've also had cars pull over when I am behind them and as I pass speed up, presumably because they realize I am not a police officer.”

NHTSA complaint #10041557, filed 2003-10, 5 miles

NHTSA complaint #10548026, filed 2013-10, 132,000 miles

“2004 Pontiac Grand Prix gtp. 45,000 miles. As of today, I have had this vehicle in service eight times for steering-related defects, beginning two weeks from the date of new purchase in january, 2004. Three different dealers have all told me it's a design defect...there will be a fix soon . Replaced rack and pinion twice, middle steering shaft twice, and rack/pinion and engine cradle bolts spontaneously work loose every 3,000-5,000 miles. Now vehicle is out of warranty. …”

NHTSA complaint #10171539, filed 2006-10, 100 miles

“Right lower control arm cracked while driving and destroyed the whole front suspension and cradle of vehicle. I am the third person that I know of that this has occurred to.”

NHTSA complaint #10157459, filed 2006-05, 34,721 miles

“Whenever I start from a complete stop, my 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix gt2 makes a popping noise under the front driver's side. Also upon starting, a louder popping noise is heard from the rear of the car. On a couple of occassions, whenever I start in drive (cold engine), the engine revs and serges forward, (I had to apply the brakes very quickly or I would have hit another vehicle.) also, I have been able to hear tappet? Noise from the engine. I drive like a grandma and keep up with the maintenance schedules, so I know it's not from my driving.”

NHTSA complaint #10062127, filed 2004-03, 9,300 miles
