Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“My headlight on the right side stopped working after 6 years and I took it to the Porsche dealer to get it fixed and it turns out that it is a non-serviceable part and that it will need to be replaced as a pair and the bill is well over $7000. The dealership confirmed that it was the LED module that burned out and the whole headlight assembly will need to be replaced. This is of huge concern due to the fact that this is a major safety item for the car and that it should be a simple bulb change that should be serviceable. …”

NHTSA complaint #11720860, filed 2026-02

“I have an accident-free 2019 Macan S with 40k miles. Recently my passenger side headlight went out, so I took it to the auto repair shop I use (they specialize in German cars). The passenger side light assembly has been deemed faulty, and I am still driving without a headlight -- concerning for safety reasons as well as for possible ticketing. After reading online, I see many Macan/Cayenne owners share the same light assembly issue - 2019+ cars in the 35k-50k mileage range. The quote for the new assembly is $5200. This is a known issue that is not the result of normal wear and tear.”

NHTSA complaint #11726988, filed 2026-03

“My 2019 Porsche Macan S driver side low beam lamp failed. As this vehicle is so advanced, it is failing to report headlamp failures. It is safety concern because during the nights it can create blind spots and opposite traffic failed to recognize it is 4 wheeler vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #11765580, filed 2026-09

“Right headlight assembly (low beam) stops working properly. Running light and high beam works fine but not the low beam. Installed a replacement bought on ebay which worked for a few months but the same issue eventually reappeared.”

NHTSA complaint #11765784, filed 2026-09

“Passenger low beam led stopped functioning at 39k, with no warning light of it ceasing to function. Safety of passengers and driver were at risk. Went through diagnostics at dealership, diagnosed to need a complete headlight assembly replacement. Was told by Porsche dealership as well as independent shops that this is a “known problem” with these Macan headlights. Did the replacement and 2k miles later, same issue presents. Blinker works, high beam works, running light works. Low beam non functional.”
