“I purchased my vehicle yesterday. Today I was driving it is stalled as I was pulling out into traffic I restarted it it drove fine another two miles. At which time is stalled again with no lights, no indications on. Sounds like some noise comes from the air box. Some kind of air noise comes from the passenger side of the engine when it happened”

NHTSA complaint #11337451, filed 2020-07, 155,000 miles

“Intermittent diesel exhaust enters vehicle when using heater. This occurs when driving, engine temperature normal, diesel exhaust will enter through heater vents. It stops if the heater is turned off and does not occur when heater is turned in a few minutes nor may it reoccur for an extended length of time. It is bad enough to cause a headache. I have to open the windows to clear the fumes. As it is intermittent I have not been able to reproduce for the Ram dealer.”

NHTSA complaint #11165652, filed 2019-01, 35,000 miles

“Driving on interstate 10 in traffic I went to accelerate to change lanes and my 2016 2500 the engine made a loud pop and lost all engine power. And didn't regain engine power for 3 seconds. It has done it several time since. It is a very scary feeling when your driving in heavy traffic. I do not get any codes or lights indicating a problem when this happens. Was told by dealer service manager that without any codes coming up that it would be impossible to find the problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10954993, filed 2017-02, 5,600 miles

“I recently received a notice of recall on my truck, regarding the potential for the water pump to fail, causing an engine compartment fire. However, there is currently no fix for the problem. I am very concerned because, not only do I drive it every day to work, it is our traveling truck and we use it to haul our large 5th wheel trailer. The potential for an engine compartment fire to occur while driving, or while we're hauling the trailer, is quite scary. A fix for this issue needs to be determined quickly.”

NHTSA complaint #11047991, filed 2017-11, 27,000 miles

“Dead pedal, when driving I.e.: in traffic with on again off again pedal I notice a brief period of dead pedal where there is no response. This has occurred more than once.”
