“I bought my car used off of a used car lot, the power steering was recalled and it got fix, but now the electrical system is messed up. My car alarm will go off all hours of the night, the windows wont roll all the way up and the key gets stuck in the ignition and I can't turn my car off. My drum brakes on the back absolutely shattered on the inside of the drum.”

NHTSA complaint #10546781, filed 2013-10, 109,000 miles

“Driving down the road at about 35 MPH I hit a bump (frost heave) and the entire vehicle shut down. No engine, no electrical systems. The vehicle became difficult to steer and the brakes did not operate as well as when the vehicle was running. I forced the car to the side of the road, turned the key off and back on again and restarted the car.”

NHTSA complaint #10318538, filed 2010-03, 74,118 miles

“Car was parked on a slight incline. Hand brake was on. Turned on ignition and engine started. Put right foot on brake and released hand brake. Placed car in reverse and began to lift foot off brake. Car began to roll backward, but when I applied pressure to the foot brake to slow the car I found that I had no power brakes and no power steering. It took a great deal of effort to stop the car from continuing to roll backwards. By now the engine had stopped running and several alert lamps were lit on the control panel. …”

NHTSA complaint #10430497, filed 2011-10, 37,860 miles

“This car has been cursed with electronic steering problems. The car has been serviced repeatedly. I have had very little response and zero satisfaction from GM. The key often does not release from the ignition. The car was involved in a violent front end collision that was caused by these issues. I bought the car (based on a false Saturn promise) and I had two daughters in the front of the car during the preventable collision. I couldn't figure out why the bags did not deploy. Now I get it! The car cuts off when making a right hand turn. I do not believe a single thing that GM says to me. …”
