“When you try to stop sometimes pulling up to a redlight or stop sign its like the brake pedal doesnt want to mash down and it takes everything to mash it then it slams you on your head.sometimes it stops fine but once out of every 10 times it keeps going.the car had 107399 miles on it when I bought it in september & the broker replaced the brakes he says.we found a reciept in the dash for having them bled so dont know if they were really replaced or not.”

NHTSA complaint #11133465, filed 2018-10, 107,399 miles

“On my 2006 Saturn VUE I had to replace the entire front breaking system. Plus the master cylinder to the breaking system with less than 44,000 miles on the vehicle. The problem that there no warning system on it at all. The vehicle just stop and would not go at all. It just stop dead. Luckily I was not on the interstate when this happen, because I was just going and it just stop complete and would not move at all. To me that is a safety issue to me. I found out that they know about these issue with the breaking system do not want to do anything about them either. …”

NHTSA complaint #11181006, filed 2019-02, 44,000 miles

“I own a 2006 Saturn VUE awd in the 2 years I have owned the car here is a list of what has been replaced; 3 set of front brake rotors due to excessive warping to a point where they cant be turned which resulted in a shimmy of the steering wheel when the brakes are applied that keeping control was almost impossible. 2)rear wheel bearings at 25,000mi. 3) front strut mounts also at 25,000 mi. …”

NHTSA complaint #10245680, filed 2008-10, 25,000 miles

“My 2006 Saturn VUE started experiencing vibration while braking and jerking of the steering wheel during deceleration, making it very difficult to control at high speeds. I was advised the rotors needed to be shaved by the dealership; however, I declined this offer since my VUE had less than 25,000 miles on it. I ask that Saturn replace the rotors under manufacturer's warranty.”

NHTSA complaint #10203874, filed 2007-09, 15,000 miles

“I was backing up my driveway, when the brake light came on and noticed the brake pedal almost to the floor. I looked under the hood and noticed the brake fluid reservoir almost empty. I happen to have a can of DOT 3 brake fluid so I filled the reservoir and drove it around the block. Breaking was a little weak, then the brake lights came on again and the brake reservoir was almost empty. Had it towed to the dealer and they said there is a leak in the brake system and have to replace the entire brake system at a cost of $2,300 plus tax.”
