Subsequently, the car spun around and caused a second collision as we hit the guardrail head on. My granddaughter (10 yrs old) was sitting behind the driver. Even though she was buckled up, she was thrown to the floor seriously injuring herself. The locking mechanism which is suppose to hold the back of the rear seat in its upright position (where she was sitting as a passenger) broke from the impact. …”
