“While driving our 2010 Subaru Legacy which we had purchased brand new and has currently 95,000 miles it started making a loud crunching noise coming from the front center wheel area and pulled hard to the left when breaking. We took it to our mechanic and a certified Subaru repair shop and they both informed us that it's a totally lost and not worth repairing that the undercarriage is rotted, specifically an issue with the left traverse link area. This is extactly the same issue Subaru has had in the past with older models. We called Subaru and there are no recalls yet.”
NHTSA complaint #11150255, filed 2018-11, 95,000 miles“I had entered a parking space, and was slowing to come to the end of said parking space. The car rapidly accelerated, and I could not stop it with the brake. I hit the concrete at the end of the space at full speed, which stopped the car. I noticed that the impact had slipped the gear into neutral. When I turned the car back on, it registered that it was in cruise control. I have never used cruise control on any this or any other vehicle. I have bruising from the seat belt, and neck pain from the impact. …”
NHTSA complaint #10627863, filed 2014-08, 40,000 miles“Rear-ended by driver coming at fast speed, shoved us into car in front of us twice, although I had my foot firmly on brake. No airbags deployed. My right knee was rammed into the sharp, hard plastic area under the steering wheel, which resulted in a deep cut and bruises which ended up being diagnosed as torn acl/miniscus and a fracture. I underwent surgery in order to repair my knee. Shortly after surgery, I received a recall regarding the airbags in the car and a component was replaced in the steering column. …”
NHTSA complaint #10359916, filed 2010-10, 3,500 miles“The subframe failed. We were told it should not be used till the part is completely replaced. This was after coming back from a trip from New York to WI. After taking it to an independent dealer we were told the part was on back order on July 5th. After being told the part was finally in on August 14th I was told that the Subaru dealership said they made a mistake and that part was not for the independent dealership I’m working threw but for one of their customers. Seems this subframe is such an issue with the Subaru legacy’s that there’s a several week to several months back order. …”

Yes dealer has confirmed the rusted frame is a safety issue 4. Yes the dealer has inspected this car and confirmed the frame is a safety issue 5. No lights or messages”
