“As I drove my vehicle into a parking space with a concrete bumper at the head, just as it was ready to stop, it suddenly lunged forward over the concrete bumper and finally came to a stop when the back wheels made contact with the concrete bumper and the ignition was turned off. A very frightening experience. Am not comfortable driving this car for fear of another similar occurrence.”
NHTSA complaint #10549572, filed 2013-10, 1,887 miles“The passenger side frame rusted through. The bolt holding the frame collapsed through the rusted frame while I was driving on the highway and I lost control of my car as I was entering an exit off the highway. My mechanic said the air conditioning system drips on this area of the frame causing the rust and failure of the frame to hold the bolt. There were no warnings prior to the incident except that I heard a popping sound when I took a right turn out of my driveway before heading onto the highway.”
NHTSA complaint #11606238, filed 2024-08“The contact owns a 2013 Subaru Legacy. The contact stated that rear roof of the vehicle collapsed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 27,000.”
