“While traveling at any speed and without prior warning a fuel smell was coming though the vents. This happened only in cold weather. Dealer inspected the vehicle several times, and could not duplicate or correct the problem while it was on warranty. As soon the warranty expired dealer replaced, at owner expense of $680.00, the throttle cable and the gas filter.”
NHTSA complaint #10056115, filed 2004-01, 19,000 miles“I took my SUV to the service depart on may 30 because the key wouldn't come out of the ignition. I am the 2nd one to report it. I am still waiting on the part for it. Now, it's 4 more after me who is having the problem. They didn't wanted to provide me with a rental car until I got my lawyer involve. Please have this as a recall. I just received a letter on the fuel pressure regulator, and they don't have the part for that either. Also I bought my car may 00 and had to replace all 4 tires in march 01. They were bridgestone tires. …”
NHTSA complaint #746874, filed 2001-06“The contact owns a 2000 Suzuki Grand Vitara. The contact has had her vehicle repaired twice for two recalls (NHTSA campaign id numbers 01v146000 and 04v427000); however, the defect still occurred. The manufacturer and dealer stated that nothing could be done because the recall had already been serviced. The contact firmly believes that when she took the vehicle the first two times to have the recall work performed, the dealer did not re-route the fuel delivery hose with the improved clamp. The last time the vehicle failed was on december 31, 2007. …”
NHTSA complaint #10213719, filed 2008-01, 10,170 miles“Nhtsa recall 01v146000/ manufacturer's recall x4. Got recall notice, and took vehicle to dealer to be repaired. Dealer didn't have parts. Called dealer about parts, and dealer no longer did recalls on Suzuki. Dealer did not warn consumer that they were not handling recall anymore after 3 months. Had to contact another dealer.”
NHTSA complaint #8003292, filed 2002-01“The consumer received a recall notice, but when she took her vehicle to the dealer, they did not have the parts to repair the recall. She states that she was told by the dealer that the manufacturer only sent 10 parts at a time. They do not know when more will be arriving. Recall # 04v427000.”
