“I had to replace 6 month old tires because they were worn on the edges. I thought it was a bad alignment, so I bought new tires, had them balanced and re-aligned. 1 month later my car is still pulling to the left. It is difficult to keep it straight. Is there a recall on this issue?”

NHTSA complaint #10113918, filed 2005-03, 18,000 miles“We have owned this vehicle for 3 years. The vehicle pulls to the left. The dealership realigned the vehicle several times, but this did not correct the problem. We also had a separate garage who specializes in wheel alignments, earlier this year, try and align it. He stated that the parts of the vehicle that control this were switched,( I.e. The left wheel part was in the right wheel part, and etc.) when we took it back to the local dealership, they stated there was no problem. The tires are in good condition and do not exhibit abnormal wear and tear. The vehicle still pulls to the left.”
NHTSA complaint #10165942, filed 2006-08“The contact owns a 2003 Toyota Avalon. The contact stated that while driving 30 MPH, he experienced a sudden loss of control of the vehicle. The contact quickly regained control as he moved the vehicle off the roadway. The vehicle was towed to a dealer for inspection where they stated that the passenger side suspension arm failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 113,000.”
