“Unexpected acceleration occurred twice in my Toyota Prius 2005 car. Both times I was in the driveway going slowly into the garage and stopped the vehicle by slamming on the brakes. No damage occurred. This was when it was fairly new and I did not report it thinking I had done something wrong. Now that all the news has come out about these problems I realize it wasn't me.”

NHTSA complaint #10317162, filed 2010-03, 12,000 miles

“My 2005 Toyota Prius feels like it jumps or accelerates when I am braking on bumpy roads. It does not happen often, and only for a second. It has happened rarely since I have owned the care, but it has occurred more than once in the past 4 years. It always happens at one intersection, and so I am especially careful there. I thought that I was imagining it, but then it happened in another place.”
