“The seat belts in the backseat are not functional. The dealer is telling us that it will be $650 to make them functional again. I have had many cars , makes and models and have never had all my seat belts fail like this. They do not retract anymore. It seems to me that the manufacturer should have some responsibility in fixing this issue,”
NHTSA complaint #10926372, filed 2016-11, 90,000 miles“The seat belts in the back seat are totally inoperable. They do not retract , so if you use them they are expanded to their largest size and will not retract. We have children that have carseats and we are unable to use the back seat of our vehicle”
NHTSA complaint #10929831, filed 2016-12, 100,000 miles“Owner entered vehicle and attempted to latch driver side seatbelt. Upon placing tab into buckle, buckle shot a spring into the car and would not latch. There were no other incidents with this belt prior to this date. He made numerous attempts to fasten the seat belt over the course of two days, but the seat belt failed to function properly. All of the other seat belts in the vehicle are operating normally. The dealer will diagnose the failure on february 1, 2008. The failure mileage was 40,100 and current mileage was 40,200.”

The vehicle went airborne and the seat belt disengaged and caused the contact to be ejected from the vehicle. Additionally, the front driver side tire detached from the vehicle and the contact crashed into a ditch. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was not filed and the contact sustained unknown injuries that required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. …”
