“It has happened 3 times, every time I have been driving and an alert with flash on the dash that there is an object in the road and it will brake check me, but there isn't anything infront of the vehicle. One time it happened getting off the highway and 2 other times it has happened when I was in a residential area. 2 out of 3 times, a vehicle behind me had to swerve to the shoulder of the road, so they didn't rear end me. Second issue, the hybrid system is not working. The vehicle was parked and when I went to put it in drive, the alert popped up and I had to turn the car off and restart. …”
NHTSA complaint #11635172, filed 2025-01“Trailer brake controller failure but i dont tow, 360 cameras stopped functioning and cameras all distorted. Lost the grid lines. Everything is grayed out. They calibrated in 10,26,2024 but same errors. Took it to toyota dealer they cannot fix. They will contact Toyota support.”
NHTSA complaint #11640332, filed 2025-02“The power liftgate on my 2024 Toyota Sequoia intermittently fails to close using the automatic function. When pressing the close button (either on the liftgate or key fob), the system beeps twice and does not initiate closing, requiring manual force to shut the liftgate. Additionally, the pinch sensor appears to malfunction, falsely detecting an obstruction when none is present. This creates an inconsistent and unreliable operation of the liftgate system. …”
