“Was traveling on constantine drive on my way to beach blvd in huntington beach. I was going approximately 15 MPH, I had glanced down to look at my navigation system I noticed that I was close to a parked car and put on my brakes. I ended up striking the left tail light of a parked 2010 - blue - ford element. The point of impact was my right front taillight. My car flipped over in one fell swoop and landed upside down. Eyewitnesses to the crash believe that a gust of wind caused the car to flip over. …”

NHTSA complaint #10295666, filed 2009-12, 3,200 miles

“I was driving at the regular speed limit and when the car in front of me was stopping to make a left hand turn. I stepped on my brake and the car would not stop. I was practically standing on the brake pedal and the car would not stop and I hit the car in front of me. The airbags deployed. I remember that a policeman told me to put on the emergency brake because the car was still sliding. I know I tried to stop and the car wouldn't stop. Based on their reports of Toyota's sticking accelerator, I thought this should be reported and investigated. I just came home last week. …”

NHTSA complaint #10345755, filed 2010-07, 6,200 miles

“Relating to a 2009 Toyota Yaris sedan.. Sudden acceleration or deceleration when vehicle is cold (after sitting overnight.. Temps in the 30's) repeatable and noticeable 3 or 4 times each week dependent on ??? ,,,, feels as if vehicle is going to stall then it jumps and repeats,, this will occur until car is sufficiently warmed up,,, have not noticed it on warm vehicle yet,,”

NHTSA complaint #10313713, filed 2010-02, 100 miles

She stated that with the vehicle in park without having her foot on the accelerator pedal, the vehicle started to rev really fast and felt like the vehicle wanted to take off. She turned the vehicle off and called the dealer. The dealer stated that she needed to bring the vehicle in to have it diagnosed. There had been no repairs done to the vehicle. The failure mileage was 5000 and current mileage was 9062.”
