Example complaints
Electrical system: “Earlier today I was riding my 2017 Triumph trophy se motorcycle on a city street when the bike suddenly shut off completely in the middle of a left turn. I was able to get to the side of the road and discovered that the engine and all electrical systems would shut of whenever the handle bars were turned to the left. It acts exactly as though I had turned the ignition key to the off position. This is obviously a major safety issue. If a car had been behind me when this happened, it could have resulted in a serious accident. …”
NHTSA complaint #11266466, filed 2019-10, 16,700 milesTransmission and drivetrain: “I was riding my 2017 Triumph trophy se motorcycle on the highway when the pivot bolt that holds the gear shift pedal to the body of the motorcycle sheared off. As a result I was stuck in fifth gear. This is a very dangerous situation for a motorcyclist since there is no way to slow the bike down and then accelerate smoothly from low speed or stop. Obviously being stuck in any gear is dangerous and could easily result in an accident. My motorcycle was bought new about 7 months ago, had about 6,000 miles of use, and had never been damaged in any way. …”
