“The vehicle collects snow/ice while you are driving causing it to violently shake. Rcm from vw called told me to keep driving when it is violently shaking because the snow will melt while your driving in -10 degree weather. I have had vehicles that collect snow when it is parked or go through a 15 inch tall drift but never this bad and never while driving at a constant speed. I have had to pull over multiple times on a 35 mile drive on paved roads to clean snow out and risk getting hit by other vehicles. Which has actually almost happened twice. …”
NHTSA complaint #11396314, filed 2021-02, 2,100 miles“Rattling or metal grinding sound coming from the right rear tire/wheel. I’ve had it checked out by two different dealerships and neither of them found a problem. The metal rattling noise occurs mostly while I’m doing in town driving (30-40 mph) but recently started doing it on the freeway as well. I don’t feel safe driving this car at all.”
NHTSA complaint #11648415, filed 2025-03“Steering wheel vibrates when going 55mph and over. Tired have been balanced and aligned I bought new tires and rims and got them balanced and aligned as well spent a lot of money and it’s still an issue. Vehicle pulls to the left, even with an alignment done. Taken to multiple shops they “can’t find the issue” .. my brakes grind, squeak, but again they said they are perfectly fine. …”
NHTSA complaint #11594115, filed 2024-06“I purchased a brand new 2021 VW Atlas Cross Sport . In January I started experiencing major electrical sensor failures including automatically opening the windows, engaging the electronic parking brake when in motion, power steering sensor warning, engine warning and epc warning. VW has told me this is a wiring harness failure and they have over 6000 cars with this problem and can not give me a date as to when the parts will be available. I can not drive the car any distance for fear it will break down as I have had to have it towed once already. …”
NHTSA complaint #11456099, filed 2022-03“Vehicle’s electronic emergency brake system engaged while driving at low speed, below 15mph. Loud scraping sound repetitively heard from driver side tire.”
