2020: “This vehicle has proximity alert automatic braking. I emergency stopped the vehicle when there was absolutely no reason to, no hazard in front of me. I am working with the dealer and vw to try and get this dangerous feature permanently disabled. I was nearly rear ended by a truck because it emergency stopped the car for no reason.”
NHTSA complaint #11343773, filed 2020-08, 180 miles2005: “I got in the car this morning to head to work, I reached back to pull the seat belt forward and around my lap. Next thing I knew the belt was fully extended and would not retract at all. I had no tension left in the seat belt and it hung over me completely extended. Now I am driving with this completely loose seat belt around me, and no protection if I am in an accident.”
NHTSA complaint #11315583, filed 2020-03, 164,000 miles2013: “My vw was retrofitted as required to meet federal emission and california standards following the vw emissions scandal related to vw diesel vehicles. My car's engine light is on and the dealer reports it needs a diesel particulate filter. However, the parts are unavailable nationwide. The emissions are now out of compliance.”
